AntiShock in iMP-900 vs iMP-550

Hello

I'd like to ask if CD AntiShock in imp-900 is better (or worse) than in previous model imp-550.
In manuals it stands that:
Imp-900: 40 sec. or 160 sec. (worse sound quality), mp3 always 480 sec., 64 MB buffor (?)
Imp-550: 80 sec. or 320 sec. (worse sound quality), mp3 always 900 sec., 16 MB buffor (?)
Ask Alice gives me a different information: 160 sec. all these models.
So I'm confused. I'm going to listen to cd audio (rarely mp3) and want to have the best
skip protection but not worse sound quality.
In addition both models have a iRiver ShockFree function that supposedly gives additional skip protection
(but with worse sound quality?).
Could one tell me which one is better ?

Best regard
