version 1.06 firmware is out! it's not on iriver's website yet though, so i wouldnt know what improvements were made...

well, i just read that iriver is coming out with the E150 and E200 version, with an aluminum body and without the external speakers. so, i think i'm gonna wait for that one. should be out later this summer. lets hope they upgraded the sound too since i've been reading that the E100 is not that great, as compared to the other iriver players

i dont have another iriver player to compare my e100 to, but sound quality sure is NOT better that my cowon iaudio x5l... the e100's probably the least liked of all iriver players...

fortunately for me, i have the hp-140 (the best player ever made). the h10 (which just died on me due to me dropping it), and the T30. so, i have these 3 as benchmarks and so i know i would not like the E100. hopefully, they will improve the sound on the new versions. i'm ready to get a flash-based player...forget HD.

Due to my experience as a deaf man and trying to listen on my E100, I figured it has clear sound at least that I can heard...Maybe it is because I have an excellent-quality wire to connect my hearing-aids directly to the E100 which helps to have sound clear....plus could be also the firmware which performs always better the potentiality of the chipset every time it goes out a new version of the firmware...
