Recorder with built-in mic preamp
I use my IFP-895 for recording my own lectures by having it in my pocket and using a common corded lapel mic. Neat, quick, adequate. A friend wants to do something similar but I'm a bit out of the loop these days as to which players have a mic input like my IFP-895. That is, not requiring an external mic preamp. Any advice appreciated. Any manufacturer, flash or hd. I searched the forum a bit but I'm in the UK at the moment on a tediously slow rural line. Thanks

You can get the Samson Zoom H2 flash recorder for about $200.
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/H2/ Most of the thing is a microphone itself, and it comes with a stand so you can set it on a desk. It also has a preamp for an external mic, but the quality of the preamp is said to be not ideal. Still, for basic lecture recording it should be more than adequate. |
