iFP-890 really quiet after firmware upgrade
hello all, first off, it's nice to see a lively community around the iRiver players!
question: anybody has any clue why would be my iFP-890 have *really* quiet playback after an upgrade to UMS firmware? I tried versions 1.95, 1.85, 1.29 -- all causing the playback to be very quiet. The only work-around I found (after *hours* of fiddling with it) was to set an alarm, wait until the player wakes up, and then it plays in normal volume. All other time it plays at strength "3" when set to volume "40". any ideas appreciated! thanks flubber

I tried them all - us, eu, jp, ch (i didn't understand much of the jp ch stuff tho). None of them did the trick.
Any other ideas?
