ifp-899 320 kbps recording?
ifp-899 320 kbps recording
Hello, i have just bought a 2nd hand ifp-899 eu iriver. i upgraded to latest 1.85 vers. firmware. I saw in the spanish manual that it can record, both in voice recording mode, and in line-in recording mode, at 44.1 khz and at 320k bps. When trying to set it in the "tools" menu, it doesn´t let me to use more than 96 kbps. I have tried the T30 too and it records up to 320 kbps with no problem. How can i solve this? You installed the UMS version of the firmware.
To use the 320kb recording feature, you have to install the IMM firmware (latest version 1.65, I think) In brief: UMS firmware: iRiver can be used like a USB memory stick, no driver is needed to access the device. But limited recording bitrate IMM firmware: you need iRiver MusicManger to access the device, no recording bitrate limit.
