Exclamation iriver ifp1090 survives drowning!

Okay so just a few days ago, i was using my iriver while doing some cleaning in the bathroom. And everything went fine until...dun dun dun DUN! My hand knocked it into the water submerging the whole entire thing. So, the music was still playing, and my player was under water. I thought of the safety hazard it posed, but thought i'd risk it just so my iriver might survive. I took it out of the water, and it was still functioning, screen on, music playing. I turned it off, and dried the exterior up. Next thing I inspect everything, the screen had no water in it, but some vapor did form on the inside of the glass, but otherwise everything looked fine. Camera was intact, no water could be seen anywhere. Shows how well built this thing is. The casing is very sealed, when i thought the water would go into it very easily. So i took apart my iriver so i could manually soak up any water inside with a Qtip, and to my surprise, there was only water around the battery area. I dried it up, let it recovery over night from "surgery" and the next morning, i put it back together, turned it on, and everything worked well! Camera works, actually the the lens became even cleaner through this process, and my iriver survived a drown in water.

Well almost, heres the bad news. It works perfectly, sounds great, functions great, and all...but when i turn it off, the backlight of the lcd will just come on after a few minutes. Its a white screen that pops up everytime i turn the unit off. And so im guessing that the iriver lost its control of the flow of electricity to the screen when it is powered off. (When it is powered on, and the lcd turns off, nothing happens = normal) And so, its just inconvenient to take the battery out everytime im done using it. So what should I do? I am sure everything is dry, and no electricity is being conducted through the water. So...any ideas on how to fix it? I recieved this player from Jeff a looonngg time ago, and so I am sure there is no warranty left on it, and I am sure iriver wont fix it or trade it in. So...suggestions comments would be nice.

Oh, i also formatted it and reupgraded the firmware, just in case it mightve been a software issue, but those options didnt work. And theres no reset button either, (though i doubt that will work either)

I still cant believe how well this thing survived after being submerged in water!!

Okay good update: I guess it was water left in the player i didnt know about, but today it worked perfectly fine! No more issues at all, it really changes my views about iriver now. I used to think they were good on the inside only, but heck i put this thing in water and it fully recovered! Amazing quality and construction i say...

Bump? I can't believe nobody has anything to say about this. Well i guess if you ever drop an iriver in water, you will have hope that it will live and survive sucessfully.

That's brilliant, I've got an iFP-500 but I should be getting a U10 soon so I might try doing the same sort of thing.
