IFP-895 Doesn't show in WindowXP Explore

I upgraded the firmware from v1.26a to v1.30. Now WindowXP says the device is not ready to use and in device manager the iriver shows the device is working properly, but there is not a USB drive under Windows explore. Was working with v1.26a. I would like to go back to v1.26a or try 1.28. Unable to update the firmware. When is starts up it display ver 1.30. When it shuts down is displays ver 1.30 895T/UE

Using WindowsXP driver ifp800.inf and ifp800.sys
Firmware Downloaded ifp890eu-130

Is there another WindowsXP driver I can try?

Thanks for any assistance.

I figured out the issue. v1.30 needs the music manager v3.16 or v3.17. I uninstalled the usb driver then installed v3.17. Connected the player to the usb and installed the WindowsXP driver. It gets the driver from the music manager. Now I can upgrade/down grade firmware if needed and able to transfer mp3 files using the music manager.

Now I have on sound with any firmware version I load. Tried v1.25US, v1.28 and v1.29.

there are two versions of firmware - UMS (player is working as pendrive) and IMM (player needs iriver Music Manager 3.17 to work)

READ THE DESCRIPTION of firmware, so you won't be surprised...
http://www.iriver.com/html/support/d...hProductIdx=34

what is important is that:
- you can "upgrade" from any firmware to any - no matter what are the numbers or "versions", without restrictions
- after changing versions you need to format player:
-- UMS -> IMM - format from iriver Music Manager (there is icon at the bottom of "player window")
-- IMM -> UMS - format from My Computer
