PC will not pick up new hardware (IFP-795)

I am unable to get My PC to see my IFP-795 when I plug it in. The cable snaps in just fine and Player shows USB connected but PC not picking up any new hardware. (Nothing new shows up in the device manager whatsoever) I have tried it in all my USB ports to no avail. The cable works for my camera as it is the same type and I know that isn't it.
I have even unplugged all my other USB devices (still no luck) and tried all sockets one by one.
I have even gone into the properties for my USB devices in the device manager and disabled the power management feature on all ports for the PC to disable the USB to save power.

WHAT gives. (I've checked out the help and FAQ's on iRiver's site but nothing applies Even though I had tried installing the software (it shows Disconnected in the player side of the explorer window)

The motherboard in question is an Asus A7N8X-E deluxe

anyone else have this issue and what else could I try?

Help!

Try what i told at "Always not connected " thread.

You need to plugin your player to the pc( while he's close/offline/shutdown ).
Then open it/turn it on by pressing the "play/stop" button. like the way you turn on the player to hear music.

then go to the Device Manager, and seek for Yellow Labaled line under "Universsal Serial Bus..."

then enter the tread "Always not connected" and continue my instructions.

Oh, and make sure you use the ORIGINAL cable and that you have fresh new battery ( to minimize the chances of hardware failur )

I have tried hooking up the player while on and off and have used both cables I have (Original and my HP camera cable, as both are the same specs) I am also using a brand new energizer, but no luck

The problem is the PC doessn't pick up anything (There is nothing new in the device manager whatsoever) The PC is not detecting anything to install drivers for. No yellow exclamation mark in device manager next to anything)

Now I have heard of a minor Voltage incompatibility with the player and some VIA and SIS chipsets however mine is an Nforce2 chipset (Nvidia) and I haven't heard any mention of it.

The player does show USB connected when plugged in to the PC, but the PC acts like it doesn't exist.

There has to be something I am missing. or others must have this same problem and possibly tried something different.

I have even uninstalled the USB drivers from my system and reinstalled them. but no luck. There isn't even any evidence anything had been seen in the registry (HKey_local_machine/System/Current ControlSet/Enum/USB)

HELP
