How can I move files onto my PC from my ifp795?
As the topic says.
I'm thinking about changing the firmware to a UMS-virsion to let it work as a hard disc, but I've stored some good music in it, and now I have the problem of moving the music onto my PC,then what can I do for this? waiting for your suggestion~ thanks!

I believe also that early versions of IMM didn't prohibit file renaming, though I've never used such versions so I can't confirm it. I also don't know where you could get hold of them. Sorry not to be of more help! |

but if you're trying to get music off of the player, how would that help?
best thing you could do would be to record the files using another player or something...

Ifp-gui does indeed only run on a Linux-based PC. It's the only way to get these files off your player in digital form. Nothing prevents you from recording the iRiver's output but you'd lose quality. You're stuck between a rock and a hard place, I'm afraid. |

Good news!
Now there is an easy way to move MP3 files back to the PC (using non UMS firmware!). I just tried it and it works. Have a look at this thread: Plug-In for TC non UMS!
