A few IFP-795 Quirks. Please advise.

I am using 1.28 UMS.

When I drag and drop ripped albums into the player, often they are listed in the wrong order. If a particular album has 10 tracks, it could be that tracks 4-10 are listed first, and then 1-3. How can I fix this, or guarantee that it doesn't happen?

Also, 75% of the time that I use the voice recorder, I hear a kind of digital flutter in the background. Sometimes it's not present. What is this and how can I remove it?

Finally, is it possible to read text files with this player? I thought I read so on the Iriver website.

Thank you so much

It's windoze's fault that tracks are in the wrong order. Try creating a folder on the player, then "select all" on the tracks and "paste" into the folder, that often works. Failing that, copy the tracks one at a time in the order you want them.

Dunno about your recording problem, I never use voice record.

I don't think you can read text files.

I know this is a rather ghetto way of getting it to work, make a new folder on the player and drag the files one by one in the order that you want it-- the first in the folder is the first in the list, the second in the folder is second, etc. Works for me.

I get this too when I'm recording class lectures. It doesn't bother me much because I just listen to it at home to make sure I didn't miss anything in my notes and delete the file. If it bothers you, get a small external mic (a lapel mike or something. [edit]I've never used one, but I'd recommend this Griffin mike from Provantage-- click here.

Download FATSORT - will sort your files, by your choice of order, once they have been copied accross.
