UMS Questions/Problems
Alright, as some of you know, I'm pretty new to the world of digital music, but I like to think I'm a quick learner. I turned my iFP-390T into a UMS device and am sort of getting used to it. Anyways, when I've been loading the player, some songs don't copy, instead they say "ERROR IN WRITING FILE", I then re-check the box in the Windows Media Player and it goes back and attempts to copy it again, most of the time it works, but it makes a slow task even longer. Any suggestions? Also, when in WMP, I've attempted to copy some of my discs that are in my library and an "ERROR" always occurs. What am I doing wrong? Is it about copyright protection. Any and all help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Uncle B, did you format the player (FAT16) from your Windows box? All sorts of bizarre behaviour can occur if you don't format after converting to the UMS firmware (well, all sorts of weird crap happened for me on my linux box, so I'm asuming that it might for windows too). Please forgive me if I've given you a useless answer
What about if you just transfer files via Windows explorer, do you still get the "ERROR WRITING FILE"? If not, it might indicate the WMP and your iFP aren't playing together nicely. Again, just a guess, since I don't use WMP (or windows for that matter).

Thanks, Tristan. I've had some pretty good luck here in these forums regarding useless answers, like there are none. Thanks for your help, I'll try what you suggested.
