1.25 vs 1.28

I'm considering buying a 799 after my 190tc died but I hate using Iriver's software. I can't find a answer to this question after searching through about 15 threads here.

Does the UMS 1.25 transfer at USB 2.0 and the 1.28 version at 1.1?

1.25 is not UMS. Only 1.28 is UMS. 1.25 requires the Iriver Music Manager software. All file transfers on the 799 are slow - but slightly slower using UMS than the Manager. As I understand it, the 799 is a 2.0 device but at the very bottom end of 2.0 speeds.

Either the T10 or T30 will give you true 2.0 speeds.
