MisticRiver Moving!!!!!!
Hi Gang, well I've gone and done it again. I'm moving servers. This time however to a nice shiney new P4 2.4ghz with basically unlimited bandwidth and best of all its DEDICATED!! That's right, no one else but MisticRiver on the server!!!!
What does this mean? On or around 12am-1am PST tonight this site(www.misticriver.ws) will be "turned off" and the database and everything updated at the new site. The other domain names have resolved to the new site but it's not ready yet so by 8am PST tomorrow morning I hope to have the whole show up and running again! Thanks for all the support and keep those donations coming, dedicated servers are real expensive. Jeff

Help - my ifP390T has had a meltdown!
Can you believe it, the power went out to my house in the middle of a file download! The iFP seemed OK, but obviously hadn't been filled with music.
Several hours later I fired the computer up again and attempted to fill the remaining space. Problem: the player was reported as full, when it only had 100Mb of files on it. I tried reformatting it - same problem. Seemed like the power out had caused the filesystem to become corrupt in some way. In the end I decided to download the manager firmware onto it and convert it back to 2.06 manager, hoping that the complete reformat of the filesystem as part of the upgrade might sort it. This apparently worked and the player seemd to work OK in manager mode. Since I prefer to use it under linux I immediately downloaded the 1.11 UMS firmware back onto it. Now the problems really started. Under windows, I formatted the iFP (USB hard drive) as FAT (249Mb), and immediately added voice and record directories before unplugging it (otherwise the player creates them automatically which causes linux problems). Unplugging the iFP, it immediately started up as normal and displayed the voice and record directories as expected. I was able to record the radio and line in into the record directory, and record voice into the voice directory as expected. When I plugged the iFP back into the windows box, I noticed that the voice/record directories as reported by windows were empty, even though they definitely contained mp3 files as reported by the iFP. I tried transferring a file from the windows box to the iFP, and it appeared to transfer to the iFP, however when I unplugged it and had a look at the files on the iFP, not only wasn't the transferred file there, but the voice and record directories were full of stangely named small files. Plugging back into the windows box, I again saw the empty voice/record, and the previously transferred file! Obviously the file system has become severly corrupted in some way. It's almost like it has split into 2 overlapping file systems or partitions - one used internally by the player for recording, and the other one used by the USB mass storage. I can't load any firmware upgrades into it to try to sort it out. So to cut a long boring post short - is there a way to revive the player or should I start preparing myself for all the hassle of getting it repaired? Any help appreciated!

Update: problem fixed!
Even though I couldn't get windows to transfer files that the player would recognise, I managed to do it under linux, and have done firmware reinstall etc. Everything is now working. In fact, I'm now using it in IMM mode under linux using ifp-line, and while it's not as flexible as UMS, the transfer speed is twice as fast and there are no 96kbps recording limits! Both me and my wallet have breathed a sigh of relief!
