Fatal 0xa Error
Looking for advice on a problem with a new IFP 795 - I have emailed support at IRIVER and here is the message:
Have just purchased a new IFP-795. Installed Music manager 3.16 and updated Firmwire to 1.30EU. Problem - Everything installed fine and worked perfectly. However, when PC rebooted I got a fatal error 0X00000000A error with the following parameters: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQU AL 0x003c8656 0x00000002 0x00000000 0x804e469A Loading last known good configuration (ie. without IRIVER HARDWARE) and PC booted okay. I have tried reinstalling but always get the same problem, ie. works fine when installed but get fatal error on reboot. Any ideas? I am running a fully patched XP SP2 PC. I am thinking that if I change to using the device without Music Manager (ie. UMS version) then this may solve problem. Thanks, Ian Fidler UK Last edited by fidlips : August 28th, 2005 at 01:23 PM. |

Two questions:
1) Did you install the software driver when the iFP was plugged into your PC? If so, try re-installing the drivers (uninstall first) with the player unplugged. 2) Is your iFP plugged in during booting? If so, try booting with the player unplugged and plug it back in once Windows is booted. These may be the easy solutions. If those do not work, a lot of other things are possible. This error is generally IRQ related and IRQ problems *suck*. For more info on this error and possible solutions you can visit a special page on the microsoft website by clicking here. Good luck! |

0xA - Still a problem!
Thanks for this response. As far as I was aware everything was installed as per the inxtruxtions but I uninstalled everything and went through the process for completeness. Unfortunately I still get the same error! I am still waiting to hear IRIVER's response but I dont hold out much hope!!
Meanwhile I have another posting related to this problem which I am about to post. Thanks. |
