What is the latest version of firmware for the iFP-895
That doesn't limit the recording abilites, as I use them alot. I know that the UMS (1.2 does limit it, but are there any other ones? I have 1.25

No, unfortunately, no official firmware that doesn't limit the recording ability is availabe.

However, skilled people have modified the firmware so that the limit is removed.

any non-UMS firmware won't have a recording bitrate limit

you have to upgrade to "non-UMS" firmware (iriver Music Manager or plugin for Total Commander will be needed)
