IFP795 to computer speakers?

My computer speakers here at work have a 1/8" stereo plug so shouldn't I be able to plug that into my IFP-795 and hear it through my speakers? For anyone else who's done this, how is the sound quality through small computer speakers? (I can't wait to bring it to work on Monday loaded with tunes and try this!)

Your post got me curious, so I tried it with my 799. A lot will obviously depend on the quality of your speakers, but mine worked just fine and the 799 with my cheap speakers sounded just as good as the 799 with headphones. Enjoy!

It really depends on the speakers. I'm pretty sure about this, but not positive...

OK I'm pretty sure the iFP's only support 2 channel audio. So, your regular everyday speakers should work... But those that have a subwoofer, or are jsut surround sound, might not. It really depends because if you plugged it into say a 5.1 speaker system (5 speakers 1 subwoofer) it will either...

A. Not work

B. Only play through 2 of the regular speakers

Hope this helps and again, I'm not really positive on this, and it might be different for every case!

It works for me as well and sounds as good as anything I've played through my computer speakers (at the relatively low volume level I'm listening to anyway). Right now, listening to Rhino's Have A Nice Decade box set on my iRiver, something like 130 songs!). So glad I thought of this
