Questions before purchase
I am thinking of buying my first MP3 player and have done some research but do not understand all the technical jargon. I am looking at purcahsing the IFP390 - or if I am able to get it, the IFP790. I just have the following queries:
1. I have read lots of negative repots about the player not being able to play back WMA files. I have also seen on the iriver support some instructions to remove this copyright issue - does this really work and will it allow me to play the WMA files if I change the settings on the windows media player? 2. Will I be able to record dierectly from a cd player and then download the songs from the MP3 player to my computer. I have read that it is possible to do this - but is it a lenthy and complicated procedure? 3. Is there any difference between the IFP390 and IFP790 in regards to the above 2 issues? I would really appreciate any advice! Thanks. |

Dont worry about the wma copyrights if u rip all your own songs.
I've had my 390T for more then 6months and i was very happy with it. But now i want an iFP-1095. I sold my player within 3days of asking if anyone wanted to buy it. For your answer for #2...No...If you have the time and your finger on the stop botton then u'll be fine. Theres a option that will make your player only record when sound gose though so you dont get a gap. #3.) Well i think the limit on the line-in will be removed. UMS comes upgraded already in the 790. Also 790 has USB2.0 not 1.1 which can only get around 6mbps(USB2.0 gets 14.2mbps) Also 790 has a longer battery life(40hours) and it has a clock function. Also can be programed to record at a certain time. Hope i helped you and sorry i didnt see this post earlyer...i cant see why no one replyed... Edited: Press release States that they will be be in stores MAY 2004 http://www.iriveramerica.com/news/5-4-2004.asp To clear up some stuff i PMed you about. |
