999 Questions

I'm trying to decide which flash player to purchase and the 999 has caught my eye. I am concerned with what I have read in other posts regarding the 999 being discontinued. I wonder if this is just an issue of iRiver not being able to keep up with orders...

Any idea when this unit hit the was released?

I'm concerned that there is no listing for the 999 on the iRiver support page as of yet...

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I checked iriver china page, there is a couple of firmware updates and it seems there are good supports. But there are none at Us site. Iriver is releasing a H10 type of flash player, I think ifp999 will be discontinued sooner or later.

I had to return mine in Feb 2005 to Advancedmp3players.c o.uk and was told that they could no longer get the product since it was discontinued. I was after a replacement after the joystick failed, after two months of careful use.
It was a great player but I was very very annoyed that it was a "dead" product already!

But a lot of places in Us still sell IFP999 and the price is reduced to Ca $170
