Some 899 questions
Hey all, I just got a 899 and after a few days I'm very happy. This thing flat out rocks and is perfect for working out. Just a couple of questions....
I simply made 3 folders for 80s,90s, and new rock. I did this because from what I read, you can only have 8 total folders for music. Is this correct? Secondly, I've been ripping 2 or 3 songs off my cd's and putting them in those folders. Now I have a giant collage of songs in each folder. Is there a way to organize these at all like by artist or is that where the only 8 folders limitation comes in. Can it display the artist as you scroll through the folder's songs, or can it only show the name of of the song. Can these be numerically put in order instead of just showing what song number it was on the cd? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7... would be alot nicer than 2,5,7,4,6,9,5,3,5... . Anyway, I hope these questions make sense and I appreciate your help. Looking forward to learning alot from these forums.... |

Well I know nothing about the flash players but here goes...
1. Absolutely no idea. You could try to make more than eight folders and let us know how it goes. 2. It can be put in order by putting the track number in front of the name. For example: 01-Sample.mp3 |

I have a 799 and it does not have an 8 folder limitation. I have about 16 albums on it and each is in its own folder. At the root level, I have a "music" folder, with separate subfolders for each artist and then within each artist a subfolder for each album. |

hi Mike1967
I am also a new user of this player. I notice that I can write any name in each folder when I am in the Iriver program. I wrote the name of the singer or group in a folder and I could see it on the player. Also when I record a song/voice, I can also transfer this file into the main folder and create there a new folder with a name on it. I understand you when you say that it is annoying to see "numbers" on each song. bye, mili. p.s. if you have time maybe you can help me on a few questions I displayed. bye |
