Well i've already seen 3 or 4 reviews on this player alread at iriver korea.

But another one couldnt hurt.

I really need an mp3 player and iam waiting for the 1095..*sigh*
Night and Day i sit lookin at the screen waiting for stupid iRiver to give me a date atless.

If there are already full reviews of the iFP-1090 then I would encourage you to post links for everyone to benefit.

Guess I should follow up on my post. Over the past few months I've developed a relationship with someone at iRiver International based in Korea. I was able to acquire an iFP-1090 direct from iRiver under the understanding that I review it for iRiver International. I'm currently in the process of writing that review and will of course post the review here as well along with more photos. I'm hoping that next month I will be able to acquire an H-320/340 as well for review and testing purposes. I'll keep everyone posted as things progress.

*sticks paw down throat, and chucks up kit-e-kat over iRiver's tech team*...

I know that's a micro camera on a mp3 player, but hell... my old-tech .6M cam does better than that iFP under seriously low-light conditions... and i'd put money that the iFP's pickup is better grade too.

In fact, if the iFP is what people hear think of as a good .3m camera feature on a mp3 deck, i despair for the expectation of the next gen of iRiver owners.

I'd rather get an old 110 format compact, process and scan, to get digital low-def images than that - and yes, for the amount i'd use that alternative for, i'd be quids in vs the iFP on-board camera solution.

Methinks i'll stick with low-def on my existing one-purpose .6m cam, use the old Nik F2 for proper photography, and never buy an camera-on-board multi-purpose (crap at everything) device. Sooner or later, 4-6M digital SLR's will come down in price, and then i'll go forward with a digital camera

iFP+camera = iFP with excess baggage of junk value in the excess baggage.

I think it's all relative to expectations Grilled. I had no expectations of a fantastic camera function. I was expecting something similar to a camera phone camera and that's exactly what it is. Young adults will have a great time with it and it's fun for clowning around. I will tell you what kick's ass though and that's the color screen and on-the-fly playlists!

How do you guys have the chance to get iRiver to get you these upcoming players? I want the H320 so BAD!!! I have sold my iRiver iMP-550 to save up money for it. I have been iRiverless for awhile now. Does anyone have any information that they could give? Thanks.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. Relationships have to be built out of trust and not just "I wanna new player" etc... you get my drift I'm sure. If at all possible I'd love to review an H-320/340. Only time will tell.

Thats before i came here. I post pretty well there and try to help people out but over here it seems like people would yell at me if i say something wrong so i'll just keep quite =D

Could you post a pix taken with that mp3 player\camera? I have a cell phone that also takes pix and it stinkos (Motorola). I would expect the iRiver offering to be about as good.

Update: I've recieved some pricing for the iFP-1000 Series.

iFP-1090 (256mb) - $279.99
iFP-1095 (512mb) - $369.99

Availability in the U.S. is still unknown at this time. At this pricing structure it probably will not be a big seller. Too expensive.

Hi Gang, i created an album in the gallery and uploaded about 20 pics of the iFP-1090 including screen shots of that wonderful color screen. And for those of you wondering here's a photo taken with the built in camera. This has not been manipulated in any way.

i got one question about that battery pack:

is there a way to put in other batteries (like AA)? if not, what's the point in making it removeable?
