musicmonkey: dont know what is going on here, are you on a mac? the playlist editor is a single executible file 'PlayList1.1.1.exe' if you have something else like a .zip file or a .rar file then you will need to uncompress it first with 3rd party software like 'winrar' (free download). If you are using a PC and the file is a .exe file and it still doesent know how to open your in real trouble.

By the way, dont know if you have done this but you need to download and install the .net framework, not just save the file.

Tonic: nope...... not on a mac - PC, I can see the playlist in the browser function window of the h320 but when i click it nothing happens?......Will try and install the .net framework again but i'm sure it installed correctly the first time as i got a pop up window saying "windows will now install .net framework" or similar...........I admit i'm a bit of a pcnumpty as i've only had my h320 for a week and my pc skills sre limited to using the web and v-basic stuff.......although i managed to get the iriverter video thingy working last night and loaded the bonus dvd footage that came with the new "Athelete" cd - really cool video of their latest song "wires" and a documentory about the band - was well chuffed with the h320 before, but after watching the dvd on it, i'm amazed and can't stop playing with it.

The playlist editor is for use on a PC only, unfortunetly there is currently no way (that we know of) to make programs that will run from the H300 interface. When the installation guide says to 'copy the exe file to your H300', its so that you can run it from a PC on the H300 dirve that pops up when you connect your player to your computer.

Sorry for the confusion, glad you are happy with your player

I think it's a fault with the player rather than anything else as i've had a few problems the past couple of days.........never mind - new H340 should be here in a few days...

Can't fault the machine really as it's so cool!.......I remember buying my first walkman in 1981 and that feeling of wonder as i walked about listening to music , i feel like i'm 10yrs old again (i wish - ha!-Ha!).

Thank you

Cyberguest - I cannot thank you enough for this program. I too never got round to sorting out Winamp - but your program is just so easy and does the perfect job. Finally I can make use of yet another feature of my H340.

Thank you

Unhappy I can't download this, pls help

I am unable to download this program. When I right click I dont get any options to "save" or "run" the file, only to open.

I have .net installed.

Any ideas?

Thank-you

Managed to resolve this by disabling the content advisor.

Nice program. Took me a while to figure it out but finally realized I should have the USB cable hooked up to "data" instead of "media". Once I straightened that out, it went quick. Thanks.

to play the playlist go to the music screen: the screen after the boot up one and click the A.B. or bottom right button. Select the playlist and there you go .

Fantastic peice of software, but i've got two requests

ability to re-sort by filename, so it's easy to remove albums all at once

a save as button aswell as a save.

can't read playlist

Cyberguest this is a great app. but it wont work for me anymore and I dont know how to fix it.I recently reinstalled XP and MSframework and the most updated version of playlst editor. this is how the editor is writing my playlists:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,Procol Harum - Whisky Train
\\Procol Harum - Whisky Train.wma
#EXTINF:0,Puddle of Mudd - She Hates Me
\\Puddle of Mudd - She Hates Me.mp3
this sample does not work

this one does:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath
\Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath.mp3
#EXTINF:0,Cypress Hill - Jump Around
\Cypress Hill - Jump Around.mp3

I assume it's the extra slash that's causing the issue. Can ya give me any advie on how to fix this? I run the playlist editor from my Iriver H320 and drag songs from the H320/F: drive onto the playlist editor. I then save the playlsts to a file on the H320/F: drive named Playlists. Regardless, this app worked great and a hellava lot nicer to use than winamp. Good Job.

So is the 52 character limit due to limitations in this software or the iriver itself and does it include the file path as well? i don't use ID3 tags on my files, i prefer to include any pertinent information in the filename itself. if i create a playlist in Winamp and one or more of the songs exceeds the 52 character, what will the iRiver do: skip it or crash?

thanks in advance.

the player would skip any songs with names greater than 52 characters.

Great program cyberguest. Simple enough for a fool like me to use.

One observation: I am using version 1.2, when I click on the "Save As" button, nothing happens. But if I use the File drop down menu and select Save As there, it works OK. I dont know if anyone else has this problem.
