You mean I get to be the first to post in this thread???
Well first and foremost, I love that my lovely wife was the one who got me my H340, saving me the trouble of having to make the hard choice between an H140 and H340. I guess that makes me more attached to my H340 than if I got it by my self. To show my appreciation to her gift, I made both a front and back inSkin with her picture on it! It turned out very beautiful, and has meaning to it as well. So other than the centimental value, what about the player it self? Thank god for non-proprietry ports. I forgot my charger when traveling once, and I was able to charge through USB (which is a standard cable most digital cameras come with). Now, i can even use a PSP charger... Long before any iPoo was more than monochrome, I had the thrill of mocking my friends. Now with Rockbox, the usefullness of my color LCD is extended through the endless choices of custom 24 bit WPSs. Even before Rockbox, we shouldn't forget the very cool efforts by many people, especially LJ with H3Mod. How did I find out about iRiver? I heard about the iPoo (a bit later than the rest of the world) and I felt that I hate iToons. So I went to look for a true drag-n-drop DAP. Yes, I love UMS, and can't ever see my self without UMS in my DAP. Thank god for that as well... Add an LCD Remote, and the H300 is one hell of a player/recorder! This is what I can come up with right now. Hope no one beat me to posting! Thanks to Jeff for this awesome site!

Flippin' everything... its so indespensible it aint funny... from recording lectures and language partners to playing music and watching videos... I am amazed how good the video quality is... I can even read the subtitles on my foreign films... gotta love that... even after all the research and looking around I am still doing I have yet to find anything that can top its versatility...

What I love the most about my H320...
The line in recording. This is probably the most convenient way to convert my vinyls and tapes to mp3. ANd of course, the sound quality. Finally, this great community dedicated to helping us with iRiver products.

I'm not sure there's quite enough bandwidth to express my full appreciation for my H320, so I'll try to give the Reader's Digest version....
Not an exhaustive list, but surely representative. Even with a battery pack being necessary, I still think this is the single-best gadget I've ever bought. BBD

What I Love About My H320
by Waterhouse 1. Customization. With my KMFDM inskin I know my player is literally one-of-a-kind. From WPS to inskins to battery and hard drive replacements, the H3xx series has to be the most flexible DAP out there. 2. Build quality. Never had a problem with my H320 or any of my other iRivers (4 players, all told). 3. Counter-culture cachet. Anyone could make the brain-dead decision to get an iPod, since they're sold everywhere from department stores to freakin' vending machines. My H320 is a statement that I made a considered purchase and didn't fall in line with the sheep. 4. Sound quality, video, gameboy (rarely used, but honestly, how cool is that?!), recording, drag/drop, radio, ROCKBOX...huh, huh...aaahh! Oh yeah, easy-to-clean surface. |

So many great things....
Personally, I find that video playback and the Drag 'n' Drop feature is what makes it for me. Two simple features, and I'm not easily impressed! Oooooooooooh look a .......... < insert something insignificant > All in all a greatt player with soooo many features, it boggles the mind!!! __ |

Here are my top 10 reasons why I like my H320:
10 - Rockbox 09 - Long battery life 08 - Good sound 07 - Build in FM radio 06 - Durable 05 - Color Screen 04 - Line in recording 03 - It's good for modding 02 - It has a nice size hard drive And the number one reason why I like it... It's a DAP that's not for sheep followers |

-sound quality
-build quality, the thing is nearly indestructible, as a certain member who had their h300 run over by a bus will attest to -rockbox is one of my favourites -overall customisability (is that even a word ?) -USB OTG, which i use every time i am away from home for a while -colour screen -doesnt scratch like certain other daps -standard USB ports -relativley standard charger, the same as some creative players i think -inskinning ok im going to stop now so im not here all night typing this post |

Its more of a 'Why I love Rockbox', but I posted this:
My Rockbox Story A while back. One point Saab_Rider & Spikey mentioned and I would concur with, is the standard USB port. This combined with UMS, and its just about the perfect stand alone unit (I used it to transport a 17Mb Powerpoint slideshow to college, and gave the presentation off the teachers laptop with no hassles!!) So, with over 8 days straight worth of music (at better than competitive sound quality), a few college essays, some short vids and pics. Combined with recordable radio and then Rockbox games....... I LOVE IT. |

UMS system, the fact that you can have hot candle stuff over it and easily clean that off (someone stupid accidentally did that only a month after I got it, but it came off without any problem), the sound quality, the fact i can take my music with me, skinning, rockbox... IT'S GREAT

I'm with musichound and drippyd (mostly).
not in any particular order: 1. Line In/Mic/built in Mic recording: I use this feature constantly. Hands down numero uno favorite feature. 2. UMS (because itunes, WMP, DRM, all suck) 3. customization, hacking & tweaking (Korean Firmware, in skins, themes, Rockbox if you want, battery upgrade, HD upgrade, etc...) 4. 20+ hrs playing time (with the new battery!) 5. color screen 6. FM radio 7. oh yeah, listening to mp3's! (I don't do Ogg or other codecs). 8. Mistic River! 9. it aint everybody else's ipod I'm waiting, however, for the single platter 1.8" Toshibas to hit the aftermarket so my H320 can truly be my dream machine.
