Did an Inskin on my old player (which was later RMA'd), but now I just have an inskin between my player and my Boxwave Flexiskin.
I also skinned the firmware, but when I upgraded to Rockbox, I went back to the standard "un-skinned" firmware. I'm about to buy a 60GB HDD too, as mine is very nearly full (Currently 743MB free). |

Where's the mod where you completely f**k your rear cover and are left without any way of obtaining a replacement. Come on iriver, I am 95% sure you have replacement chassis. iRiver America sent some to C.R Kennedy & Co (Australian company), but they were returned for credit when they didn't fit the Australian and European models. I know they came from iriver America because the head iriver guy at this company told me. Besides the fact that they probably have hundreds of spare second hand parts lying around, when you e-mail them they just tell you they don't sell replacement parts What a bunch of lazy jerks, they can't even send me a god damn replacement chassis, or rear cover.

H3Modded iriver firmware, inSkins, and Rockbox.
I'll probably upgrade the battery eventually. Hard drive... well, I have a plan. Freepay (the only legit "free stuff" site I know of) operates three iPod sites: one for Nanos, one for 30 GB iPods (and, strangely, Nanos...), and one for 60 GB iPods. Their rules allow you to complete each offer only once, but each site is considered separate. As such, I plan to do one of each... the Nano shall be Rockboxified so I can have a flash player; the 30 GB iPod shall be butchered for its HDD (giving me a 30 GB H320 and a 20 GB iPod, which I'll probably sell); the 60 GB iPod shall be kept for video (because for that purpose in particular, it beats the pants off my H320). Though, perhaps I'll sell both and buy an iAudio A2 (or whatever's looking good by then). (Skeptics, feel free to comment; I care not Internal USBOTG mod will probably be done when the warranty expires in May. Last edited by Phieta : February 9th, 2006 at 10:15 PM. |

Those of you who have replaced your HDs. Where did you purchase them from.
I have read that only Toshiba drives work/fit with the H3xx series. I have just had a quick hunt on ebay and found this one. Would this be suitable. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toshiba-HDD218...QQcmdZViewItem Also, in the battery changing thread, it says that you just have to lift the HD up slightly and slowly pull it from the connector. Is that all there is to it? And then when you put the new larger capacity one in, does the remaining data figure (shown at the top of the display when in track-list mode) show the correct capacity. These may sound like very silly questions but I haven't had my H320 for long and I am not a very tech-minded person. However the battery changing notes seem very clear and I think I could probably manage it, but to put a bigger hard drive in there as well would be mint. Any help would be appreciated. PAUL |
