Steve.

I agree, My battery inflated and would stop the Hd from working with the case shut, i Told them that and they send out a replacement no questions asked.

think was i was in a rush and brought a new one and will have a spare. they don't keep that long So i'll put it in the trade section when i have it and pass it on to someone who wants it.

Hello guys, i just joined,

anyways my Iriver died on my last summer and i don't know why. It just turned off and i havn't been able to charge it up or turn it on. My warranty is over so that won't help. i have an H320 and i want to know how i can fix it, from what i've read it is my battery that has died but i don't know that for sure. if anybody can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Oh and, I opened it up and was able to get the battery and Hard drive out in an attempt to see if i would be able to install a new battery hoping that would happen but i was unable to get the little white clamps unhoocked to take the board out. this was in an attempt to fix it myself but i just want to make sure what the problem is.

What is the problem with my Iriver?

I'd stick it asll back together and try to use the AC adaptor to power it. that should work with or without the battery and you'll soon know if they player actualy is working or not. if it dies when you remove the ac power with the battery connectedthen you know the battery is totaly finished with. and a replacement will work.

Of course try a usb cable too to try and charge it if that works. If the USB cable work and the 5V DC input connector didn't, you'll have to check it's connected properly and resolder it if it's nessasary ,if you have the knowhow and the gut's to do it.

I've replaced my battery and had to resoler the connection. If it ain't any of the above then I don't know whats wrong with it.

My battery needs replacing too. Charging via AC Adaptor it flashes up as Complete, then switches to Charging again. Pretty damn annoying. Anyway, can someone please provide a working link to the battery replacement guide, I tried to follow the links at the start of this thread but could not get to the page. Has anyone tried batteryupgrade.com as a source to obtain the 2nd Gen iPod 2200 mAh batteries from? TIA.

Does anyone know where I can find the replacement battery for h320 that has the sime size as the original one (3.5mm thick)? I bought from ebay an Ipod replacement battery 2200mAh and it fit fine with original 20gb single platter harddrive (Even though it is thicker than the original battery). But when I changed it with 60gb double platter harddrive, it will not fit, even if I squezze it. If anyone know the link to the store, please let me know.
Thanks

I just replaced my battery with the 2200 mAh I'm gonna do a test with it because the orginal post was only a 2000 Mah Battery. I'm really excited about the battery life. It will be definatly better then the 15 mins I had before

Here is the setup:

Iriver H340
Firmware 1.29 K
Battery: 2.200mAh Ipod 1/2 Generation
Volume: Level 25
Equalizer: Normal
Remote Control: Non
Earphones: Senheiser Mx 550

17-03-06 14:50
4 Bars

17-03-06 22:40 (running 7:50)
3 bars

17-03-06 00:15
For some strange reason the player shuts down. After I power it on it goes on without a flaw.

17-03-06 1:00 (running 10:10)
2 Bars

I didn't expect it would go to 2 bars so quickly but i'm already satisfied with the results.

I'll keep you guys updated.

17-03-06 5:00 (running 14:10)
1 bar

17-03-06 8:00 (running 17:10)
0 bars

17-03-06 9:50 (running 19:00)
Player shuts down

A total running time of 19 hrs ain't bad, better then I expected. I hope this battery will last long.

If you follow the instructions well its quite easy. The only pain in the ass for me was putting the wires back in the socket or whatever you call it.

What kind of battery did you use? Did you use the Ipod replacement battery? If yes, then you need to reverse the polarity. You can check it further here:
http://www.misticriver.net/showthread.php?t=34257

If it still not working, you should double check the battery connection. Because when you plug in the charger, it is supposed to show "charging" icon.

That was bothering me, too. It took me ten minutes to put back the cable to the molex.

Maybe you misplaced the prong when you changed the polarity It is a good thing that now it is working.

i just finished changing my battery... at first, it didn't work, because one of the wires from the batter got caught up on the metal part, stripping it slightly. everytime i would press down on the case, it would shut the player off so i couldn't tighten any screws. a little electrical tape and some more time, i got it to work. it's charging up now. i'll benchmark it once i get a chance.

I've started a thread for all those whose batteries ballooned on them - please check it out, maybe we can figure out what the cause is:
Replacement battery ballooned? Let's try to figure out why.
