that's really interesting and i have that problem myself (always says connected via usb), but i don't quite know what you mean....
so i plug usb cable into iRiver, turn it on and then use wire at the other end as shown in yer diagram? dunno what you mean by the "two outside leads" would love you to tell me tho as would be great to get this little mofo back working!! |

I had this problem happen to me this morning. My H320 displayed "Connected" even though it was not. I tried resetting as many have suggested but that did not work.
The only thing that worked was Zall's suggestion. I plugged in the supplied usb cable to my H320 and took a small piece of wire and contacted the outside leads. It worked at the moment it turned off the always connected display but one second later it would revert back to the always connected display. I tried everthing. Leaving the wire contact longer than 5 seconds. Or leaving the wire contact on the outside leads on and restarting/turing off the H320, nothing worked. Finally, I tried one last thing. I reloaded my firmware 1.27k. And it worked. It has worked so far. I have turned off my player twice and on again three times. It seems fine for now. 3 hours and going... So if you have tried Zall instructions and let go of the wire to the leads and it still donsn't work. Leave it contacted long enough so that you can reload the .hex firmware. Hopefully this will help some of you. Good Luck. PS. I got so lucky. All this wouldn't have worked without Zall's help. Thanks Zall. |

I got the same problem with my H340.
Unfortunately, nothing described above helped. I even downgraded my firmware from 1.27 to 1.04, but every time I remove the wire, the screen switches back to "CONNECTED" or "REMOVE EXTERNAL BATTERY PACK". Has anyone an idea, what else I could try? Thanks, Nik |

I have also tried Zall's solution.
1. I get my "connected" message 2. I plug in my usb cable 3. I connect a wire to pins 1 and 4 which give me the "disconnected" message 4. when I unplug to cable I get the "connected" message again!!!! please help me save my 320 Thanks |

the only way I can keep the iriver running was to cut off the end of a usb cable connect the it to the iriver and connect the RED and BLACK wires.
This is what my Iriver now looks like Last edited by spriteboy : June 24th, 2005 at 07:54 AM. |

HI,
I got an H320 recently and have loved it. I bought it on ebay and the person I bought it from sent me a universal power adapter he had been using with it (along with the iRiver AC adapter). I tried to plug in a universal power adapter yesterday (with the correct voltage and tip polarity) and it came up saying its connected to the USB and I can't get away from that. I'm sorry but I can't tell from the picture zall put up where I'm suppose to put the wires to short the outside leads. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rachel |
