Hi Guy,

I keep getting this message whenever i import firmware,

9 original images could not be found in the currently loaded firmware

Big Music
Big Radio
Big Record
Big Text
Big Pictures
Big Video
Big Browser
Remote\Remote functions video
String group: Functions Menu

You probably opened up a modified firmware file
If this is not the case, make sure you have the latest reference file.
Also make sure you really use the original, unmodified firmware file.

this message is followed by:

The default bookmark file could not be found, therefore the missing images are not listed in the bookmarks. You should start by loading the unmodified firmware at least one to create file. This will allow you to use the modified firmware in future sessions.

Missing file: C:\Documentsandsetti ngs\Adnan\My Documents\H300 VER 1.30 E.v8.h3x

Does anyone have any tips to get this sorted?

I tried to import the skin into the mod anyway and it worked but when i tried to save the h300.hex file onto my h340, i got an error message saying that 'index was out of bound of the arrays'

thanks in advance

[Edit] With the latest version, published today, H3Mod supports 1.30E

But 1.30E. is the stupid crippled firmware version, after they removed video.
You shouldn't use that firmware, it cripples both video and volume. Go for the
1.29K from the international download site, it can easily be changed back to
English menus. Or search the forum, there were links to the real 1.29E
somewhere, I think.

I got a skin and I got the thing to compile it into a HEX with (the H3mod) but I cant read the korean to get a clean firmware (at least I assume thats what it is. whatever it is I cant read it.) I have an H320, but I cant seem to find a clean firmware link for the 1.28k vertion (or any vertion actually). can you get a Direct link to firmware for the H3xx 1.28k, or tell me where to look for it? (Im sorry if that sounds nasty or in anyway unpleasent, not my intent) thanks, the rest of your guide has worked for me(well as much of it as I could use anyway)

hi, i have 1.29k on my 340, i downloaded the 'sin city' theme, but when i cruised through the player, i saw that some pictures were not clear, were a bit muddled, mostly the menu ones, eg general, display, timer etc. is it something to do with the colours or pallete

Can you be a bit more specific? I just put it on my H320 and it looks cool,
just like in the preview. You won't get 100% exactly the same shades as
on a computer monitor, since every LCD/CRT is different, but nothing that
I could see at a first glance.

Red face

when i go to the, Music, Radio, Record, Text, Picture, Video and Browser words, they are muddled up, like you cant actualy make out the word unless you knew what they were from memory. That is also the same for General, display, timer, Mode, Control, Sound as well as the symbols for those. And then when you go into those menu options, nothing is readable.

Hmm, no, still drawing a blank here. All the text is readable here. I don't
know what is going wrong when you theme your player, but since I can't
reproduce, I also can't do much about it. I'm really sorry. Did you try it
with another theme, so it's clear that if this one theme is the problem or
the whole process?

There's a program out there, called H300-Tool or similar (can't remember exactly atm), you can import your pictures there and it will resize them automatically.

Hmm i seem to be having the same problem as "corrupted" from the begining of this thread, I'm getting the same exact error code. In the tutorial in the begining of this thread it mentions using a "clean firmware" i was just loading the H300.hex file in my players root dir. Can someone direct me as to what im doing wrong?

Ah, you're the one running 1.31k right?

I'm not sure if H3mod has been updated with the 1.31k bookmarks yet, in fact its likely it hasn't. Not many people have taken interest in 1.31 because it offers nothing Rockbox doesn't already have and quite a majority of people have been focusing mainly on Rockbox for some time. Skinning will work fine with 1.29k.

Ya, i accidently updated my firmware while fumbling with it one day. So is it possible to load an older firmware? or is it not backwards compatibile like that?
