Since you completed the skin, did you get it fixed? If not, does the uploaded
Pink Floyd skin still have these problems? Then I can download it and have a look. If H3Mod says that a picture has the wrong size, then it has the wrong size. I'd bet on it, it's almost technically impossible to get a false alarm there. |

no, i didn't fix them. the connected text image still works on the player, even though it says it's the wrong size, but if you can get the filetree background to really be black i'd appreciate it.
edit: the connected text worked the first time i plugged it in, and now there's a little error. if you want to try downloading it and doing what you can, i'd appreciate it -EGO Last edited by Ego : February 9th, 2005 at 04:54 PM. |

Help!
Hi
I get an error when I try to load the .hex file in to h3mod which says "input string was not in the correct format" I OK that a critical stop appears: "the default bookamrk files could not be found, therefore the missing images are not listed in the bookmarks etc" this has been posted before. I carry on, but when i load a theme, it says no .gifs were found. I have the latest version of h3mod, and the right .net framework. Am I doomed to never be able to use this cool program? I just cant see waht Im doing wrong!? Thanks in advance for the help Gregor NZ |

h3mod does open correctly; except after the first time I load a hex it screws up: it always loads with the hex at start-up and there seems to be no option to unmount it. So to clear it I have to remove the registry log and start over. I definately have the right Hex file, and right .net framework... Im running XP pro, Im not sure what else to say. Im sure Im doing somthing wrong, but I cant figure it out for the life of me... Thanks for the help Gregor NZ |

Hmm, sounds like problems with a h3x file. Do you have any of these on your
disk, more specifically, in the folder of the firmware? If so, delete, and make sure you open a fresh, unmodified firmware. That will create a new h3x, and then you can start modifiying. If that doesn't help, I'm out of ideas, too. |

Thanks for trying to help.
Im not entirely sure I follow you Lord Juliius. I deleted all but one of the .hex files on my machine [I think this is what you meant?]. Still the same error. Actually its two errors, the first says "input string not in correct format, the second says "the default bookmark could not be found therefore the missing images are not listed in the bookmarks. You should start by loading an unmodified fireware atleast once to create file. Missing file ...\desktop\H300 VER 1.27 E v2h3x" The program then opens and the left side displays what looks like static [snow] from a TV screen. Please, any ideas?? This is drving me nuts!! THanks Gregor |

Update
I tried the process on my wifes crappy old laptop [my PC is a well maintained gaming thourghbred So problem *solved*. However if you think you do have a solution I'd still like to hear it; to save me using the crappy lappy. Thanks all Gregor |

I actually meant .h3x files. Like the one in the second error message. If any
older/corrupted versions of these are in the same folder as the .hex file, they can cause trouble. Glad to hear you got it up and running on another machine at least. |

Just finished reading the tutorial, it was very well put together and I added a theme flawlessly. I had to download the .NET upgrade but that's more or less Microsofts fault
I now have my first skin on my H320! Thanks again. Are there any other places to look for skins/themes other than this sub forum? |

anyone know of a font that works well for the h300 series that i can d/l somewhere or is a system font? All the fonts i've tried on my comp don't fit well (like the w's are squished and big letters are squished) and the only good one is the default font which i think is courir new

I've put three fontpacks online here:
H3mod Fontpacks Should create some more one day. Verdana is a great font, and now i'm used to it on my player, i couldn't go back to the standard one

That happens for the background middle images, the ones that are only a pixel wide.
A bug, fixed in the next release. Until then you can use the Skin Load/Save fuction, that can handle them properly. |

Not to be a pain in the butt, but how do you use the load/save features to import a single graphic? Is there a known issue with the vertical scrollbar as well? I get the same error message when trying to replace that particular graphic as well. Thanks!
Nevermind, I got it. Last edited by crules1111 : March 3rd, 2005 at 04:15 PM. |
