No problems, I got it sorted.

Heres what I did, believe it or not:

I opened Open Office Word (similar to Microsoft Office Word), Changed the zoom to 90%, so that the page was the same size on the screen as it was in my hand.

Then I imported the image of the inskin I wanted. This might sound wierd but, I placed the plastic cover of the player ONTO my pc screen, then resized the image to fit accordingly. printed it out, and hey presto.

It would be alot easier if the skin examples posted could be sized so that they can be printed straight off the net. It'd make it much easier..........

Just tried the pic, out of interest,

but it came out the wrong size?? as all the other images did.

quite confused with the image sizes............... ...........

I do like it, in fact I love it!! I plan on keeping this one for a while.........

Its just I'd really like if the images that are posted up on other threads would be sized so that you can right-click, and print straight off.

Cutting out the buttons and screen were a little difficult, gotta find my swiss army knife! lol!

Same here when u look at cutted out image it doesnt look coll but when its under the cover and closed its looks osom. U should cheout mine in completed inskins thread see what u think.

SaabRider, here is photo of my fractal, it is not perfect quality, but i think it is better than picture used in your tampletes...but if you dont like it, it doesnt matter, you can use it or not, when you make it smaller it doesnt look that bad... sorry for blur, but i dont understand digital cameras..

I was thinking about this post of mine a few days ago, and remembered that I forgot to mention something important. The higher the pixel dimensions (or resoloution), the higher the quality of the final printed document. Eg, something in 350 Pixel/inch is going to turn out of better quality when printed than the same "Document size" and just 100 Pixel/inch.

@Kero Maybe you want to try to engrave your buttons with the appropriate symbols, then paint the buttons silver to get the prototype effect

The images in the SkinIt thread were intended just for sharing design ideas I beleive. They weren't intended to be printed out directly as the images weren't of the exact dimensions.

That's why I posted my templates. It was an attempt to have the inSkins put in an image which could be printed directly and would be easy to cut. We're still testing with sizes etc. and the template isn't perfect yet. Thanks to people like Sheva, I'm getting feedback which would help better improve the templates.

To get a better close-up picture, try to use your digital camera's "Macr" option (usually it's a button with a "flower" icon). This improves pictures of close-ups. Another way to get good close-ups is to take the camera a bit far away (without macro) and zoom in to take the picture, but also don't be too far away!! Thanks for trying to help

Ahh that explains it, I'll give resizing a go with some programs and get some dimensions for you guys if I can.

I am working on a template. Therefor I scanned my H320 with 300dpi so dimensions will not be a problem. Scanning is ways better than taking a photo with a DigiCam.
The front part is almost finished. I will post the template when it is done.

Great to hear..........

Im guessing these templates are just for covering the front and back, as in not the sides? The sides would be difficult to shape, especially for the H340.

The template currently doesn't cover the sides. However, I actually plan to adjust it to also cover the sides, once I actually open up my H340 and get accurate dimensions.

It includes the sides. Looks better this way
The front is now finished.
Replace the black part with watever you want, set the depth to 300dpi, print it, cut it and have fun.
