Refurbished hard drives?
Hey everyone- first post!
My H120 hard drive died and because of the confusion and waiting for the 40 gig hard drives (MK4007GAL) I am checking out options for 30 gig, and I found one that is very cheap. I found a place online (TekGems- HERE) where they are selling the 30 gig Toshiba MK3006GAL hard drive for 65 bucks, BUT it is refurbished. Does anyone have experience with buying refurbished hard drives, or experience with this retailer? When I looked, it said they have 25 in stock, so this is not just a one-off thing. Any advice? |

They look ok, just ask the seller if they guarantee that they work and if not will accept a return

I spoke with a computer tech. person about refurbished drives and he recommended against them, given that one doesn't know why they were refurbished and given all that could go wrong inside the sealed drive. In the end, I found a new drive at the cost of a refurbished. I'd keep checking via a search engine search or on eBay.
