IR Remote

Well.. I am trying to figure out if it is possible (and how to do it) to make an IR remote for my H120.
Is there anyone who has tried this?

or else, anyone who has some schematics of the remote, or some information on the way the remote buttons function (only High or low signal or binary codes?)??

tnx

Remember that IR is a line of sight technology so no pockets. Plus making one will end up more expensive than buying a remote already available as the parts involved add up quickly.

You might want to get in touch with travis or Haku. The latter has already broached the idea, and (IIRC) abandoned the project for one reason or another.

An example of travis' work can be found here

bluetooth might work better than IR. There's certainly a million parts available. Battery life would be an issue though.

at first: I want the remote when I am in my room, so line of sight isn't the problem

the original remote controll uses a resistor network to decrease the voltage, which the ADC then checks and converts to a digital signal for the player.
Because I have a second remote control which is dead, I have a spare Plug and cable so I can use that to connect the IR receiver without a problem to the player. for the switches ICrelays can be used, €2 for one relay, total relay cost for all butons €22, but I don't think all buttons are needed.

only problem, how do I make or where can I buy a receiver for a normal multifunctional remote. that receiver must have 11 (one for every button) analog outputs and that's the (only) problem for now.....

A suggestion I have to make it more accurate would be maybe take a look at this

Not sure if it would be what you are after but would potentially give you a stable signal and directional marker too.
