Interested in H1XX Series Docking Station

Hey I wanted to kno, how many people would be interested in an H1XX Series Docking Station? And for how much? Cuz im guna be makin myself one soon, and if lots of people are interested, I'm thinkin that ill sell u guys some. You'll be able to choose the colour and all, but it'll have to be from a list, cuz I wouldn't just want to have to buy one colour for one person. Also, I want to say that if there a lot of people that would enjoy having one, the cost would include that of the box, usb cable, ac adapter, and other stuff, plus it would have to include shipping ($5-$10)Thx.

what would be nice would be if it were built so that one could plug in their own ac-adapter and usb cable into the dock, like the ipod dock or karma dock. that way it would be way cheaper to build and sell!

Yeah i was thinking of that, when im done making mine in a couple weeks or maybe a month, i'll see if there was a way to do that, but people might have to glue them in or something, not just simply "plug" them in.

I think clevetus means that you would have sockets for them on the back of the player, like the apple one, and then these sockets are linked to the plugs which go into the player, meaning it would be more portable and cheaper etc. I tried doing this on mine, but was way too difficult, so i didnt bother.

Oh i get it, so like they would plug the usb cable and adapter into the hole, where there would be an adapter thingy running up to where u would put ur h1XX. I see now. yeah i think that might work, but it might be tricky!

Something like that would be nice:

But therefore one has to make a kind of board to connect between the plugs. This would be a must-buy for me.

yea, the usb-part would most definatley be tricky, i doubt the ac-part shoud be that tricky, sockets for that type of adapter can be bought all over the place. But the usb-cable is cheap so its not as important for it to be detachable if you get my drift. also, i'm only interested in a cradle that charges my iriver as i will keep the cradle in my bedroom hooked up to a stereo, var from the computer. maybe if more people have the same purpose for their dock, you might offer it with only a detachable ac-adapter aswell as a dock with both features?

also, jelly.. i know i bothered you about this before, but do you mind putting a pic in the gallery showing the inside of your dock, i mean a photo of the dock from above without the player in it? i'm kinda confused on how you managed to make the support that holds it up from under!

One more question, i'm wondering where i would find an adapter sort of thing where ur able to plug the type of plug on the H1XX and plugging it into an adapter type of thing....it's like u taking ur ac cord and plugging it into ur H1XX but instead of that pluggin it into something the same size as the iriver hole, but with an extension cable to the iriver, i dont think anyone understandss me,,but hey, i try.

It is not a B plug, the B plug is the square one on the device end of a regular cable.

the one you need for an iriver H series is called a mini A plug, well it was when i bought one :P The B type ones are the ones found in printers/scanners/some digicams etc....

And tim, i have posted the FAQ for the contest, and has some CGIs of the inside of the dock, they look cool, but if you can't wait till the 15th or they ent good enough, ill take some more pics, just PM me.

Yeah but on the iriver site it says "This cable has a standard USB 'A' connector on one end, and a standard "Mini-B" plug on the other to connect to your iRiver iHP. This USB cable is identical to the cable bundled with the iHP players and is approxmately 5' in length." So it is a Mini B plug that goes into the H1XX.

By the way guys, just to let u kno, if i do sell these things, they'll be about $25 US plus about $5 - $10 for shipping, so it's right in the middle, but do keep in mind that I havent even built myself one yet, so dont plan on these things being 4 sale in the next month, but hopefully sdooner then u think!

I hope your goal of making money doesn't interfere with a free faq of how to make one ourselves.

Yeah, but 'jelly' has already done an faq and is putting it on soon, so i don't have to wry bout that, and for makin money, i think there'll be more then enough people that dont want to make a dock themselves to suffice me with enough profits.

One question tho, since i don't have my h120 yet, on the ac adapter, the part that plugs into the h1XX, the little round silver thing, is is remoable, so like if u can remove it, there are two prongs sticking out and then two holes on the ac adapter to plug it into? Something like this, but it's just the one top coming of...ewe that sounds dirty

No: the original iHP adapter is a unitary piece without removable/interchangeable tips.
