As of now they don't. Maybe with future firmware upgrades they could, but for now it's just mp3 and wma.

Also the WMA has a limit. from 32 kbps to 192 kbps... Is that a normal limit? or is that bad? I'm not sure. MP3 is 32 kbps to 320 kbps.

Well, in my WMP10 it's only letting me select a CBR max of 192kbps...... so maybe that could be the reason. But the VBR goes up to ~355kbps. I'ver never used WMA (besides for testing) so I really don't have much experience to say. Anyone?

I guess iriver doens't support WMA9, if they don't support it wma can be only between 32~192kbps

This may or may not help but in Sound Forge 7 you the CBR WMA 9 codec has a top bitrate of 360, while WMA 9 Professional CBR has a bit rate of 455 and supports 24bit audio as well. So the limitations are definitely in the hardware because the codec is more than capable.
