Hello, I have a few questions about the H10.
Does the 20GB H10 make HDD clicks and white noise in the recordings? Is the 6GB H10 quiet compared to the 20GB? How would this device compare to the Phillips GoGear HDD1830? What is a good price for it? It is $278 on Amazon! Amazon.com: iRiver H10 20 GB MP3 Player/Recorder (Blue): Electronics Thanks in advance! |

I don't have much I can say about the recording quality, but as far as price $278 is almost as much as they were when they first were released! I paid that for my first one, but the replacement I got recently was brand new and only cost $80 because it was a special colseout at this store I was at. Keep in mind that's an exceptional deal, but at this point in time I'd expect an H10 would be around $150-180.
However If you're alright with paying more, good for you, go for it. I've used mine for some recordings and found that sometimes there is a bit too much gain on the recordings so they clip. Also it does pick up the sound of hitting the button to stop and start recording. Aside from that, the quality is pretty good. Now I use it with Rockbox to record because I find it's a little more flexible.
