Can't boot into OF to restore firmware

After installing Rockbox a while back, and updating it etc, I found I could no longer boot back into the original firmware. I notice the rockbox bootloader (when holding down the Select button) gives an error when trying to find the original firm ware.

So anyway I ran the iriver firmware updater, hoping to restore the player to factory default... BUT you can't upgrade the firmware without booting the H10 into the original firmware and THEN choosing to upgrade!!!!

So can someone please give me some help - even if i could just find out the essential files/directories that i'm supposed to have on a factory default player... Or file sizes etc.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have your files backed up? You should be able to format the hard drive (using FAT32 - might have to do it from a DOS prompt) & then the firmware updater should work, although you'll have to tell it whether it's a US or EU version. Give that a try... If not, google Swissknife & that will format it - again make sure it's FAT32!!!

@Rociante69: sorry to waste your time! It has started working again (?????) so I don't know why this happened in the first place!

Mods - feel free to delete this thread, or keep it as it contains some useful info. Thanks.
