H10 functionality poor

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have recently bought the 6gb H10 player and suffering complete misery so far compared to my little creative mu 1gb which was far better.

I have tried Xp & Vista WMP 9,10,11 and basically I have music in browser settings only not album, artisit etc you should be able to select from music folder. There seems to be lots of confusion about this support seems poor, solutions erratic. Have this device a week now feel like selling it already and getting something that works and has not got lots of compatibilty issues that this has?

Have you upgraded to the latest firmware (& is it MTP or what)? Have you tried the "Refresh Database" option in the "Extras" menu? Where is this confusion you speak of coming from? There's a multitude of people on here more than willing to help you out, rest assured. I can tell you this - keep your Creative product & don't be surprised when the headphone jack goes out, because most likely that's what will happen...

I can't understand why anyone would buy an H10 when there are so many better options out there- I have an H10 which is nearly 3 years old and is reaching the end of its life (headphone socket problem). Unless you bought it very cheap you would be much better off with a more recent model (flash rather than HD) with better firmware and the chance that it will be supported and upgraded.
I've been happy with mine but there are much better options out there now.
