At odds with my H10

Have an H10 20gb, is about 2 years old, was have'n trouble loading music would get stoped messages in the sync part of my wmp 11. so, since i couldn't load more music i decided to try and reload my firmware and clear out the h10. was able to update or install h10 2.51 and was unable to sync more songs, decided to reload the firmware but let the updater do my format. it got to that section of the update and said it was unable to in a popup and suggested formating the h10 via windows explorer. so, i went out to the explorer, found the h10. this is all in emergency mode btw. and set it to format. i then try'd to sync it, and got an error message, went back to the updater and told it to reload firmware, as now it was showing current version of 0.00. so reload 2.51 and use it's format function. comes out blank of anything but system files when i look. load music and get a clock face whenever started up or reset, face shoes white box in upper left corner, clockface in center over iriver logo, and system initializing, please wait... on lower center screen. thinking i may have done something odd, i repeated the same steps format(via exporer), format and firmware(via updater) reload music, everything shows via my explorer as there, music the works, but i get same clockface and whathave you. i'm kinda at wits end and kick'n myself for starten the whole process, any suggestions?

The clockface is the h10 database updating. Leave it for 10-20 minutes (depending on the size of your music library). It should stop after this and you should be able to use your h10.

ok, i locked it on, and left it for, between 24-30 hours, still get my clockface and is unresponsive to on/off button? i'm stumped, should i perhaps, try reformating, and doing the firmware, and checking to see if it works, then sync a bit at a time?

I haven't used my h10 in a while, but what I would suggest doing is downloading and running easyh10 (there's a link in my signature... i think :s). Perhaps this will skip the h10 updating it's database at the start.
