Death(!) and Resurrection(?) of an H10 20GB

After a few days of delight with the new-fangled (to me) rockbox software/whatever, my H10 just stopped playing music and shut down. I've been unable to get it to boot since. Of course, I've tried the reset button and such. The only response I've been able to get from the player is when it's connected to my computer (running OSX) via USB. Even then, it's merely an all-white screen for the duration during which I'm holding the power and select (o) buttons simultaneously. I've also tried to boot it using the original firmware by holding PREV while booting to no avail, although I hadn't been able to get it to work while the player was still functioning. Maybe there's some sort of magical master reset or something? At this point, I'm almost willing to take the thing apart, since it's of no use to me as it is. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What exactly happened before it "bricked"? Did it take a hard bounce, get wet, etc? Sounds like the HD had a massive failure somehow.

hey buddy listen im aware of this problem on the h10 although its a software problem in rockbox currently so dont get worked up, i've bin in conversation with a few devs, they might be tryin their best im sure to fix this, ive been compiling builds myself to find out where this problem started from, although id recommend to take the build from 17th september cause that still doesnt freeze as much, i hope you understand this , & let hope this is fixed asap, c ya tc

suggestion: 1.either take a build from 17thseptember
2.just delete the .rockbox folder , & replace you bootloader in the /system directory with the original iriver one & use original firmware till a few days, im sure by next week hopefully things will be in control

Nothing at all, friend. Nothing at all.

Thank you for the suggestions, but the player doesn't function in any way. I certainly can't get into it to change files around.

Anyone else? Did the hard drive just get completely annihilated? Rip it open and slip a new one in there?
