What causes the backlight problem?

does anyone know what causes the backlight problem with the h10, where the light doesn't turn on and you can't do anything with the player either and you have to reset it? I only ask because it used to happen on a semi regular basis, but for the past 2 months or so, it hasn't happened at all. well, until 2 minutes ago. Is it a firmware problem? I also dropped my h10 by accident yesterday, could that have woken it from its blissful none-freezing-ness?
