Cool replace h10 6g screen

Does anybody know how to remove the screen from a H10?

I have opened my H10 to remove a broken screen ,both glass and LCD display shattered. There are two ribbon cables connecting the screen to the mainboard but I can't seem to dislodge them. Iam not certain of how much force you need to apply to remove them, before they break or cause further damage.

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Thanks

Smile It's kinda hard

Hey man i had this problem about a week ago and i thought the end of my iriver h10 was near. but, to my surprise, i got my hands on a bricked h10. the screen was still working. there is a few steps that must b e taken to replace the h10 screen.

1. Unscrew the touchpad, if you havent already.

2. Where the main connectors are attached beneath the touchpad there should be a small white tab, thats long and skinnk, that can be pulled up in order to remove/replace screen. (It's the same type of little tab that attaches the hard drive to the opposite side of your board.)

3. Pull this tab up, and pull the main connector out.

4. ON the side, where the other two threads are soldered to the board, you must rmeove these with a soldering iron/gun. You can do this by letting the iron/gun heat up, and then heat the solder that connects the two threads until the solder melts. While the solder is still liquid, remove the two threads.

WARNING: Be sure to only remove the 2 threads. You would be amazed how much damage a soldering iron can do to to microtechnology.

5. Remove the broken screen, and replace with working screen.

6. Close the long & skinny tab beneath the touchpad, and re-solder the two threads onto the appropriate areas.

7. Screw everything baack together and good luck.

8. If you have any questions, I've been working with h10 hardware for a while, so just send me an email. I would be happy to send you a photo and diagram of a h10 board and more specific directions. This should definitely work, man. Here's that email:

Good luck.

ANyone else who has any hardware/software trouble with the h10, jus send me and email and ill do my best to help you out.

PS: Does anyone have a bricked h10 i can have?

PSS: I have a touchpad if anyone needs one.

Here's to you, mrs. robinson.
