I have an H10 20G and no matter if i put the device in MTP or UMS mode after transferring 1 to 3 songs it will all of the sudden stop responding with my laptop. I have tried to reinstall the firmware... didn't help. I have actually gotten a whole new laptop and same behavior. Any assistance is appreciated.

Specs...
I am using windows xp, wmp 11, i have tried transferring the files with wmp i have tried just moving with windows explorer. I have not tried another usb... have been considering it... maybe i will just order one cause this is brutal. However, it does do the same thing even if i try to move more than a few files from one directory on the device to another directory on the device.

doesn't matter what method i use
I have tried using drag and drop and WMP and a couple of others, it doesn't seem to matter what method i use. Also, it seems with all of the media players they move my song files into folder with artist and album... can i make that stop? I don't want my music seperated out like that.

Missing the Point
I think everyone is missing the point, it doesn't matter if i use WMP 10, 11, drag and drop, UMS, it ALWAYS disconnects from my laptop, or looses the connection or something, the screen still says USB but it is no longer recognized by my laptop...

Try making sure that you are not using an upowered hub, or that there are not too many usb devices plugged in. Sounds like it isnt getting a full charge through the cord. Also make sure that the AC adapter isnt with too many other things, as it might also be the problem.

i sporadically have this problem too, i found that if you leave the PC alone, it sometimes completely avoid the disconnects, and as others suggested, try using a Powered USB Hub and plug in the AC adapter when you connect it
