How do I organise H10 Menus
Hi to one and all
I have been trawling through the posts looking for an answer to my problem with my 5GB H10 but could not find a definitive answer so I decided to post instead. I bought the player 2 years ago while travelling in Australia, but have yet to master using it. The sound is amazing from the device and in my humble opinion, it is definitely an ipod killer! Well here is my problem. The player was bundled with the iriver Plus software which I disliked using and uninstalled. The device has failed to work properly with any other software since new. I am currently running WMP 11 and when syncing the device the music will appear on the player only in the Browser section under the Music subfolder. I have failed to get the music to appear in the actual Music section where you can select by artist, create playlists etc. What is the solution if I still want to keep WMP as my default player on my PC? Apologies in advance if this has be asked before! |

I agree:
Easy H10 is available here : http://easyh10.sourceforge.net/download.html "To tell if your device is MTP or UMS: If you have a 20gb h10 (which is called a h20), you have MTP. If you have a 5/6gb, it can be either UMS or MTP. The cd that comes with your h10, if it has iriverplus, then it is UMS, if the CD comes with WMP10, then you have an MTP." - quote from itmesguys. So basically, if your device came with the Windows media Player CD, to connect in UMS mode, remove the battery, reinsert, connect to the computer (do not turn on yet), hold down the back button, and press power as you continue holding the back button. You should see emergency connect come up, and this will display the H10 as a removable drive. (If you have the UMS verison which I doubt, you will not need to do the steps preceding this.) Drag and drop music to the H10 Music folder, and then use Easy H10 to create the H10's database. If you need more help, let me know. Rastaman. |

this is not always true..my h10 5gigz is a UMS version and i got a WMP disc bundeld with it..i dont even use wmp or iriverplus..it anoyes me to know that i hav' to depend on a 3rd party program to upload music in player.i put the music in it via total commander or winblws crpsplorer..just drag and drop,in this way i cand organise my music the way i want it.i dont care about id3tagz..tried to use iriver plus the first time i got my player but noticed that after transfer in music section all of the mp3's were organised via id3(total mess),and since i dont use that option in my computer i found thatz much easyer to use the browser function ,just like a normal player... so i think that before u mark your player as a WMP u shoud try to see if yar pc recognizez it as a hdd(without the ums trick and wmp10 or iriverplus installed) just plug it in and see what happens,if its recognized as a hdd its most surely a ums version,no matter withc software came with it,if u get a new device found or such u hav to instal proper software(wmp10 or iriverplus) and u can safely say that ur player is a WMP version.. so i guess the "check the cd bundeld" method isnt so acurate.. if anyone wants proof i can take picz of my player and the WMP cd regards
