Unhappy Problems Installing EasyH10
I'm trying to install EasyH10 [I've used it before but have reformatted] and I keep getting this error whenever I try to run the install:

"easyh10.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I am running on Windows XP.

I've tried to download older (1.4) and I still get the same error... I must be doing something wrong...I hope to get this fixed because I leave for my trip to Ireland Friday and really prefer using easyh10 for my H10.

search google/microsoft's website for MSVCR71.dll. download it, install it, then try EasyH10 again

FWIW I have the same problem today. The Easy H10 installer says it installed this file, and indeed it is there.

Now what?

I've downloaded the dll, put it in three different places including /Program Files/Easy H10/ and still I get the same error.

...I hate WMP, and would love to use this tool...

Same problem on a completely different--mostly clean-- Win XP system. Something in this application is simply broken.

The program hasn't been touched since late 2006, so i don't think the program is broken as it has worked for many, many others. if all else fails you can just do a database refresh on the player.

Not sure why I'd refresh the database when the app won't run...

For grins I just installed Easy H10 on a completely clean laptop running XP SP-2. Same thing on three very different systems (Dell Latitude D600, Intel 965 mobo with PentiumD, and IBM T22). I don't mean to be obstinate, but by all reasonable measures Easy H10 is simply broken.

Ummmm, major mea culpa.

Not the same thing. DOH! In any case, it would be nice if the installer was recompiled to include the missing file.
