Hi guys,
My first post, too bad it's for this problem... Well, I have an Iriver h10 20g US for about a yr and a half now, and until a few months ago, everything was good about it, and I was very pleased of it. I mainly use it when I train in the gym and run on the treadmill, when I travel I also listen to it. oh, I should mention that I don't live in the US, and I don't think that Iriver are officially imported to my country. my grandfather, who do live in the US, got it for me. I guess the problem began about 2-3 months ago, when touch pad stopped working properly. I checked your forums and I found someone saying that letting it dry for a few days would make it work again. so I did, and it worked, kinda... not as good as new, but good enough to be able to scroll. I suppose I just sweat too much on it now, sadly, my Iriver wouldn't turn on. the last thing I did with it before I couldn't turn it on was charging it over-night. I did manage once to turn it on somehow, by reseting and then pressing both the on and O button, but then the h10 turned off by itself after 30 secs or so. now it doesn't turn on at all. I've let it rest for about a week, hoping the problem would fix itself. is there anything I can do, is there any chance my h10 would wake up? |

hmmm, I tried now to charge my h10, both through the PC and the power line, and to turn it on, but it still didn't turn on while it was charging, though the red bulb that indicates charging was lighting. could it still be a dead battery? another thing I thought about, in case my h10 is unrecoverable, is there a way to add the 20g HD to the PC? or to make the PC recognize the h10 as an outer HD without turning the h10 on? |

amazingly enough, there is an official importer of iriver to Israel. I've even found their website, and I've posted my problem in a forum there, though it looks quite dead.
now I really understand how much I liked my h10, and I really want it to work again, even just to be able to make it an external HD. |

So, it has been about 3 weeks since I've last operated my h10. I have put it to rest inside a drawer in my table. I've searched many websites and forums for people that could help me with my problem, but with little luck. Today, I was getting ready to go to the gym. for no reason, I thought to myself why don't I try one last time to turn on the h10, of course there's no reason for it to turn on, I haven't charged it since the problem started, but heck, I gave it a go, and OMFG it turned ON!
I suppose it did get some moist inside, and letting it dry fixed it, so from now on I'll be extra careful handling my h10 when I sweat. say, will it be a good idea to cover the h10 in a nylon baggy and put it into the silicon case? it could be a good low-cost solution for water proofing the h10... |
