There is no one to solve your problem because what you are asking for most probably is an impossibility. Your player most probably does not support compact flash cards.

There was another thread on a similar subject recently.

One poster said they'd opened their H10 up only to find it's HDD uses a ZIF connector, so it would be incompatible with CF cards.

I believe that was talking about the 20GB not the 5GB

But, maybe, I don't really remember.

Then why are you asking here? Obviously no one here has tried it. You seem to have more information than we do, so try it and report back!

I have never heard of such a thing. Please provide a link.

EDIT: It might be possible. Here is a link to convert an iPod mini to use a compact flash card. It might help:

everyone giving the op a hard time...geez. Get a grip. Takes two seconds to do a google search to confirm that it indeed is a microdrive player inside the 5gb player. It should be a no brainer in replacing it with a standard CF flash card. I've already tried out the adata 16gb card in a Rio Carbon and an iPod mini. In both cases the card was recognized and worked as a 16gb card. For the Rio that lasted about 2 minutes before it ended up in an endless reset loop. In the mini it worked just fine, though with rockbox you need a patch that stops the firmware from waking up the drive and such since flash doesn't spin down, sleep and all that. You would probably need the same patch if you rockboxed the h10 with a flash card as the same principal would apply. Shouldn't matter on the original firmware, but don't quote me on it. I think the H10 is the least known for replacing the drive compared to the others out there.

I believe people have also done it to the Creative Micro which I'm looking to try soon as you can get a refurb direct from Creative for $60. Should be easy to sell it on ebay for the same price if it doesn't work out. My preference (and I'm anti-ipod) is to go with the mini since its rockbox firmware is very stable and mroe people are replacing the drive in that than other micro drive players. Also you open the door to all the accessories (like a waterproof otterbox case). And you don't line the pockets of Apple or use their crippled firmware. That I can accept.

And newegg has the adate 16gb for about $130.
