H10 - 20gig places music under "Browser" instead of "Music".

Sometimes I can't find any music that I've loaded onto my player. I just copied over a compilation of Mambo musicians and I can't find it any where. Other times I'll copy music over only to have to dig into the Browser area to find it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Look around here for references to a program called EasyH10. It will look at the properties of your MP3 files and rebuild the database that is used by the "Music" menu system. Make sure you look for the documentation as well. One thing that seems to trip people up is having EasyH10 configured for the right version of the H10 that you have. And you want to mark the option to REBUILD the entire database.

You have to connect to your PC in UMS mode. (If you don't know what that is, again look around here. There are LOTS of references and instructions on booting up your H10 in UMS mode.)

EasyH10 is a great program. Once folks use it, many never go back to using WMP10 to synch their H10. Instead, they just boot up in UMS mode, drag and drop files to/from their H10 and then run EasyH10 to rebuild the database.

Gary

also, its best to just install EasyH10 onto your H10, this way you can rebuild/update your music database on anyones computer.

I did not know I could do that! For some reason, I did not think it was possible or advisable. Can you tell me how much of my 20 gigs it will require, and whether there are any complications?

Thanks!

you don't install it, just create a folder, drag it over then drag it onto the other computer. (all in UMS) it shouldn't take up more space than a song (~2MB, think)

I have the same problem as the original post.

I've run easyH10 several times, however there is no "music" folder when i look at my player from my computer.

If i copy it directly to the main directory (E:/) then it just puts my files into "browser".

Does anyone know how to find the right "music" folder?

it should be inside the media folder (show all files must be turned on in Windows)

i am new here, i didnt know if i should create another thread but since the title really explains my problem, i decided to post in this thread instead

ok now iam confused, ive read the threads and tried the solutions but i have the same problems mentioned. most of my music are in the "browser"section of my iriver, instead the "music" of my h10 20gb. i recently had transferring music issues with wmp 10 which and my h10 locked up several times, but i finally got it resolved. But i notice some time this week that a large amount of my songs was missing from the "music" menu, well actually over 1700 songs was missing out of 3200 songs on my iriver.

ive read almost all the relevant threads, i refreshed the database, ive used easyh10 to rebuild the database and i still dont have the missing songs in the correct locatio. i did discover that all the songs are in the "browser" section. but i am wondering how do i restore the missing songs from the "browser" back into main "music" section of my iriver

i guess i can be fortunate because reading from all the horror stories of other people h10, i might be lucky. however, it is a little inconvenient using my h10. the music is all in the "browser" and plays well but i cant create a "quick list", i cant refer to "recently played" music and cant set my favorite music list.

i hope someone can help me with this issue
