No longer playing music

I've had my H10 5gb player for nearly 18 months, and I haven't had any problems with it, until a few days ago. When I was walking home, the player stopped playing any music all of a sudden. The strange thing was that it still had full power, and was able to play FM radio. This problem has persisted ever since.

I've tried formatting the H10 player, reinstalling the firmware (2.53) along with re transferring the songs. The songs display on my player, but when I go to select them to play, the timer stays still and nothing happens. On rare occasions, I will hear static, and fragments of the song selected in my earphones, and see that the timer is at a number other than 0:00. However, the songs still play perfectly in Windows media player when I connect the player to my computer. Any tips and advice would be much appreciated.
