H10+Rockbox = Problems

I recently got a 20 gb H10. I'm totally blind, and I purchased this player so I could use it with the Rockbox firmware, which would make it a lot more accessible. I managed to install the Rockbox boot loader, but when it came time to install the actual firmware I wasn't able to find the player as a drive on my computer. I tried disconnecting the player from the USB and then re-connecting it again. Big mistake! Now the player wouldn't show up at all, and I kept getting this error message related to the fact that the boot loader was installed but couldn't run. I tried doing a reset and an emergency connection, but that didn't work. I'm completely out of ideas, and since I tried installing Rockbox, I'm also no longer under warranty. Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this problem? The guy I talked to at IRiver (he also suggested I visit this forum) said I might be able to find someone on here who could repair my H10 for me, so is there anyone in the New York/tri-state area who could do that? you needed to use the UMS trick to get the player to show up as a drive. i think you may have bricked your player. i'd ask in the H10 rockbox forum for more help.
