H10 6Gb (MTP) Upgrade to UMS???
My nephew has an H10 6Gb with v2.51 MTP firmware. We would like to upgrade it to a UMS firmware version so he can use iRiver Plus to manage his files. We are able to boot up in emergency UMS mode (Explorer displays it as a drive), but whenever we attempt to use UMS v2.53 to upgrade it tells us to ensure that the player is hooked up (which it is). Does anyone have any suggestions (i.e. - a different firmware version, etc.) as to how we can do this? Thanks a bunch!

it should show up in the post. sounds like you have it turned off in your options. you can change it here

I went through the instructions you provided and everything seemed to work as they should during the upgrade, when I connect the player to the PC it is definitely coming up in UMS mode, but iRiver Plus is still not recognizing the player... any ideas? Thanks again!

you need to use the original IRiver plus, not Iriver Plus 3 (which is available from this site)

You wouldn't happen to have any idea as to where to find the original version at this point, I can't seem to locate anything earlier than v2?
