Can't upgrade firmware

Hi, today my brother had some problems with his iriver h10 5gb, it was no more recognized by windows as external drive, so i downloaded the fix.zip from this forum and it solved the problem (thank you!).
Now i was trying to upgrade the firmware from 2.10mtp to 2.51mtp, i downloaded the iriverfirmwareupdate r and then the zip file of the firmware, connected the player in emergency mode, than the program tell me to disconnect the player and that the player will reboot several time to complete the upgrade, so i disconnect and.....nothing happens, the player stays on, it doesn't reboot and i've still the 2.10 firmware installed. I've tryed several times, even by letting the program download the firmware automatically, but i wsn' able to do the upgrade. Any suggestions?

try a manual update. did you check the bottom of the settings menu to make sure the firmware did not update?

I have already tryied either the manual and the automatic upgrade, but nothing happens....the bottom of the settings menu still says 2.10mtp....:confused :

you tried automatic. you need to download the firmware file from the MTP link in my sig and then drag it over into the system folder on the player
