Is my H10 dead?
At first i thought it was just my newly bought USB card , but it really seems it's my Iriver. Cause i've just plugged my mobile phone (usb) to it, and it worked fine, no problems at all.
When i USB insert my Iriver , i see "Removable Disc" appearing in "my computer" i click on it, and it just hangs, after awhile i receive a error ""H:/ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." So i googled it, and eventually decided to format the Iriver, so i tried that by right clicking on "Removable Disc" but it just hangs and nothing happens, so i went to "start>run>CMD" and did "format H:" and it started formatting, after it was done however, i received another error message and also saying the device was not properly formatted. I can't acces it anymore, i CAN listen to it, just not acces it in my PC to remove/add songs, i have a bad feeling about this. |

I see the Iriver icon called "Removable disk".
---] I just tried something, i installed Iriver plus and i let it download the firmware upgrades and all that...it's finished, but still when i click on the Iriver icon on 'my computer' it says the disk is not formatted, and asks me if i want to do that, which of course gives me the errror after it. |

Today i found out the H10 is not dead at all. It's probably my USB card that is causing this, although it works for my mobile phone with USB. I plugged the H10 to the computer at my work, and guess what, it worked fine, i could acces it no problem, all good. I called the shop where i bought that USB card, in a few minutes i'm going to that shop and they'll check out my pc and see if their are any alternatives, cause with this USB card it's not gonna work.

Oh man, do i have good news, my beloved H10 isn't dead at all!!!!
I went to the shop with my pc, and the guy said 'oh there you have it' it's my motherboard that's close to dying, two transistors(i think thats what you call it) where broken, simply because i've been using this motherboard for a long while, so it's just due to it's age. The fact that the mobile phone does work probably has to dowith that the Iriver needs much more power , plus that it starts to charge as soon as you plug it in. So i thought i had to look for a new motherboard with ram and all that, but it appeared my dad had a pc left, an even better on than i have now, so it's nothing but good news for me. |
